Weekend Recap

Well, this last weekend was pretty busy. Brother-in-law’s birthday, it was also a belated celebration (well, from our point of view) for the parent’s anniversary. (Meesh’s parents that is.) So saturday, there was a bbq at the parent’s house, which was excellent. They just got back from a good fishing trip and bbq’ed up some halibut and salmon, and we also managed to cook up some steak as well. It was a very good feast, and my phrase for the day was, “I’m not eating too much today, I don’t want to explode.” Needless to say everyone was trying to get me to explode. It was a lot of fun.

Sunday, we got invited to hang out in the boat for the day. Now that was fun. I’ve posted one photo from the digital on the photolog, however, the rest of my shots will have to get developed. We went up to Seattle and back, and had some lunch in Gig Harbor. Pretty nice day! We also managed to watch the Blue Angels as they were flying over Seattle, and I’m still not sure why they were there, but they pretty much flew right above us in the water, and I got a few shots of that. Hopefully they turn out ok! I’m anxious to see them.

It was a pretty eventful weekend. I took a short break today just to recuperate, since the sun burned me pretty good and I’ve been exhausted. Hope your weekend was just as fun!

Well, the marriage goes on!

Well, I’m posting into the future, and you should see this message just as we are getting prepared to get married. Odds are, we’re just now getting ready for the ceremony and Meesh is probably walking down the aisle. :) Congratulate us on our wedding!

One Week Left

Well just thought I’d say I have one more week left until the wedding. Man. Time goes by so fast. Things are a bit more hectic, as my parents will be coming into town tomorrow, and my sister arrives on wednesday. It’s a bit crazy around here getting things cleaned up and sorted out.

Things will get crazier soon I’m sure! :)

Weekend Recap

Well, the past weekend seemed to be chock full of work. Work work work! I managed to release version 1.1 of Linklist yesterday. That was a pretty good release, though there were a few stumbles at first. No big deal. :)

A walk in the city

Yesterday we went to Seattle for one of our friends’ birthday. It was a lot of fun, although I could have lived without all the walking we did in the hot sun. Man it was hot! We walked around Pike Place Market, and of course, had to go to the Garlic Garden. We bought some original whipped garlic and whipped garlic with jalapenos. It’s sooo good. You can order from the website as well. They’ve got some recipes you can try as well. I’d recommend it!

We went to the Crab Pot for lunch/dinner and the birthday feast. It was good! I had the Crab and Salmon, and Meesh had Halibut and chips (it’s always safe and it was good too!). I actually wouldn’t have minded the Halibut, but I can’t go to a place called The Crab Pot and not order Crab! :) They spread it out on the table on top of butcher’s paper, and they give you a wooden hammer to crack everything open. The big bib helps too. :) (I’ll get a picture of me with the bib soon. )

All in all, it was fun. Seattle is always fun. Just the walking around kills ya. The steps going up to Pike Place Market…oy! There are a lot of them. Someday I’ll actually count them all, just to say how many there are.

If you ever find yourself in the Seattle area, you must go to Pike Place Market. They’ve got tons of stores there and well it’s just fun!

Switch me, please.

Ok, so inspired by zannah, I simply had to get a KVM. I bought an Iogear as well, and so far I’m impressed. I like it! I was able to change the hotkeys really easily to ctrl-ctrl, which is what I’m used to from using the KVM’s at my old work place. Pretty nice.

I ran into some issues actually when I was using it on my Windows PC and my logitech mouse. I’ve really come to conclusion that my Mac is superior to my PC. When switching, if using the logitech cordless optical, I’d lose the mouse, but not the keyboard. I’m sure this has many reasons due to the fact that I’m using the USB 2way KVM. But frankly, I thought I’d have problems with the keyboard if nothing else. No matter. I am using my logitech USB keyboard, but now I have converted over to my Microsoft Optical Mouse, which is what I used to use on the Mac.

Figure’s, it does work kinda sorta. I seem to lose double click, even though the windows CP says that my mouse is set to double click on the scroll button. When switching, windows does see a new component being used on my USB port as well (which I will assume it’s the mouse, since it never happened with the logitech cordless).

It works, that’s all that matters and this is such a space saver. Now I don’t have to turn around or have 2 keyboards and mice on my desk. Now if I could only get around cleaning up my desk. I don’t think any company makes a desk cleaner upper…

Well.

I heard a nasty rumour that today is my birthday. Don’t believe it.

Happy Birthday you devil dogs!

Happy Birthday to the Marine Corps, who is now 229 years old. Hot damn. That’s old. :) I talk some crap about the MC, but you know it’s because I loved serving with them. Can’t live without my marines. :)

Semper Fi!

(oh, consequently I was not a Marine. They just called me doc.)

Hi. My name is …. A. Nonymous.

I was reading up on Robin Jean’s, since I haven’t been there in a while (not to mention all the other sites I haven’t been to recently), and stumbled across this entry with a quote about anonymity:

Anonymity is not neccessarily bad. For example, it disguises differences in race, sex, age, and physical appearance. To the extent that these items interfere with fairness, anonymity may serve as an equalizer. Furthermore, people may be encouraged to reveal their true feelings if they know their indentity will not be revealed.

Just thought I’d share a bit of enlightenment I received today with you.

It’s raining…

I love the rain. The rain brings me back memories of being a child, and playing out in the yard, getting wet and quite muddy. Getting scolded by my mom because I tracked the mud and the water into the house, and having some fear, but knowing that my mom really wasn’t too mad as she would dry me off with a towel and tell me I would catch a cold. It reminds me of the times hanging out with my friends, just chewing the fat, and hanging out because it was too dreary to go out and do something. The smell of rain brings back memories of a my youth as a teenager, and it gives me that nostalagic feeling. I love the rain.

There are many different types of rain. But today it’s a misty type of rain. It’s the rain I love the best. Today’s rain reminds me of a time when I lived in Southern California, and went to the Rennaisance Faire. There were mists of water coming out of the stands, which gave it the effect of misty rain. It makes me think of that day spending time with my friends and eating an empanada.

Yeah, I’m feeling a bit nostalgic today.
