Warcraft Plague Runs Amok

You gotta love this. Is this really real? I mean, I would love to hear that this actually happened. I love it!

iTunes 5

If you didn’t already know, iTunes 5 is already out to download. It doesn’t quite show up on checking for updated versions on Mac or Windows, so until they put that in their update, you’ll have to download it from their site directly. :)

Let’s hope it’s really cool and does lots of great stuff.

(UPDATE: Well, I tried downloading the version for windows, but…the site is busy. Great. At least I got the download for the mac version from MacUpdate.)

Hell’s Kitchen is over!

Well, the season finale was great. It was good to see the old faces again in the kitchen, although I did think it was a blow to Elsie that neither Michael or Ralph picked her right away. It shouldn’t have come as any surprise to Chef Ramsay, as he said, since he should know that they weren’t particularly fond of her.

I’m finally glad that it’s over however, and can worry about other things Monday nights. :) I thought the restaurant themes were great, although I think I leaned over to Michael’s side more so than Ralph, mainly because the retro look is kinda great, but I think I’m over all that. Regardless, it still looked great I thought. The uniforms were a bit different on both sides, the women for Ralph and the men for Michael. I have to agree with Chef Ramsay that they were a bit different. “the men look like ballerinas, don’t they.” I loved it. :)

Of course, I find myself not mentioning who the winner was just in case you didn’t see it.

You may ask yourself this question if you are into the entire storyline of Harry Potter and have picked up and started reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I’ve just finished the story myself, and while normally I am not one to read rumours, especially about Harry Potter, I’m just curious to know what people thought. What people have started to speculate. I don’t pretend to know, and I surely won’t, until Book 7 is finally released…whenever that would be.

There are spoilers contained within this entry, so if you have already read the book, then continue futher, otherwise, wait till later, or get spoiled now.

Ok. So.

I knew it.

She was going to get the axe. I mean. How could Jessica not? For one thing, did you see her scratching her ass? OMG. No. Please. While this may be perfectly acceptable behavior in the headhunting world, it is not in the culinary world. Of course, she wasn’t in a kitchen so I’ll give her that. Regardless, she was a complete mess, not knowing how to get things done. And sadly, only 1 person liked her chicken. Ralph’s fiancee spit it out. I mean come on, can the food really be that bad? Honestly. It’s chicken.

Not that he hasn’t before, but Ralph’s getting on my nerves. I really dislike him. Sadly, professionally he would seem kinda ideal to win. He’s got the experience, he’s got know-how. But I just don’t like him. There’s really something about him that I find very…dishonest. But that’s everyone, right?

Michael on the other hand, while he is very evil, I think he knows what it’s really about. He wants the restaurant too, and he’s not going to let Ralph stop him. He helped out really well with Jessica tonight. I mean he pretty much took over her dish. (of course, the tuna wasn’t selling much either.) Ralph, on the other hand was the “I can’t be bothered right now.”

I really am rooting for Michael to win. I”m really anxious to see how the other “failed” chefs stack up next week. Now truly, Michael and Ralph can sympathize with Gordon Ramsay. hehe. This one should be entertaining to watch.

On a totally unrelated note except pertaining to entertainment, I finally got around to getting the latest Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. While not finished with it yet, I’m getting there pretty quick. I’m not wanting to finish it too fast, (lord knows I will though – and read it twice before Goblet of Fire comes out in theatres) but when I start reading, I just can’t put it down.

I’d probably talk more about Harry Potter, but that’s really a whole new post, isn’t it?

Batman Begins

Finally got around to watching this movie. Since I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, you’ll have to continue reading after I write this summary.

If you have yet to watch this movie, I say it’s a must see. I’m really impressed with Christian Bale. I’ve always loved his acting, when I first saw him in American Psycho (which happens to be one of my favourite movies of all time – I know I must be crazy right?). I thought it was done very well. Very dark, with a very decent storyline. Everything I envisioned the “Dark Knight” would truly be like.

I have to admit that I’ve never felt as much emotion about any other Batman movie like this one. I thought the characters were very believable, and very well done. The actors and actresses did a great job. And to my surprise, “Commissioner” Gordon was no other than one of my all-time favourite actors, Gary Oldman. That alone made me realize I loved this movie. I was never disappointed with a movie he’s ever appeared in. (at least if there were, I’ve blocked them out.)

Ok so last night, I was pretty pissed at the show. I was pretty damn upset at the eliminations. So much so that I want a do-over for yesterday’s episode. LOL

Let me just say a few things about some of the folks on that show.

Ralph – OMG I cannot stand this man. He’s a really cool guy, seriously, and in a way I really like him. But damn he’s a two-face sonofabitch. Seriously. How can he be so nice to some folks one second and then the next, he’s like the devil. Can’t stand him. He’s obviously a pretty sore loser too. I admit that I get pissed when things don’t go my way, but damn.

Michael – Another two-facer. But you know, Michael is still professional about it. (well sometimes – remember when he called Jimmy a “fatty”? Pretty bad.) But he still is a sonofabitch because he definitely thinks he’s better than everyone else and sees Ralph as his only competition.

Jessica – No comment. Why she’s gone this far is beyond me.

Elsie – I love her. I think she’s improved the most. I mean seriously. She has done a great job, has won a lot of the competitions…but I suppose she was being carried by the others. But IMHO, she had the greatest potential to turn out an incredible restaraunt. Seriously. and she got 86′ed…wtf. I still can’t believe Ramsey chose her to leave over Jessica.

And all the bad things the trio have been saying behind Elsie’s back…are they not ashamed of themselves? What kills me is that Ramsay KNEW they were being asses and asked Elsie, but she said she “had the support from her team”. I can only guess that Ramsay already knew she had enough and enjoyed her time there but didn’t want to go through with it.

I’m still upset she left though. But hey, she’s got her own fame, perhaps something will come from it.

Phantom

If you haven’t heard already, Terry Goodkind has released the title of the latest Sword of Truth Novel, Phantom. He also gives a synposis as well. The tentative release date is January 2006, and has yet to show up on Amazon.

The letter from Terry also mentions the success of the last signing (January 2005) and he also hopes to have one yet again! (I’m glad, since I missed the last book signing!) Exciting times ahead for the Sword of Truth lovers out there!

Hell’s Kitchen

Sure enough, I’ve been sucked into this show. The only reason I’m watching this reality show is because it’s about the kitchen and cooking. I love it so far. If you haven’t seen the episode yet (like if you have it on Tivo and haven’t watched it yet), don’t go any further. Unless you’re curious of course. :)

A night of improv

Tonight, we’re going to see A night of Improv with the guys from Whose Line is it Anyway? This is gonna be some serious fun! The only ones not going to be there will be Drew Carey and Wayne Brady. I guess they’ve got better things to do. Regardless, we’re gonna have 90 minutes of some serious funniness tonight! I just hope we don’t get picked out of the audience to do something crazy. hehe.
