It’s like thanksgiving today. Happy turkey day, and make sure you eat your fill.
I plan on it! I don’t have to really cook today though. Not that I wouldn’t mind, we’re just going to Meesh’s brother’s place for the feast. Should be fun. I’m sure between me and her brother we’ll eat some serious grub.

Ok, so inspired by zannah, I simply had to get a KVM. I bought an Iogear as well, and so far I’m impressed. I like it! I was able to change the hotkeys really easily to ctrl-ctrl, which is what I’m used to from using the KVM’s at my old work place. Pretty nice.
I ran into some issues actually when I was using it on my Windows PC and my logitech mouse. I’ve really come to conclusion that my Mac is superior to my PC. When switching, if using the logitech cordless optical, I’d lose the mouse, but not the keyboard. I’m sure this has many reasons due to the fact that I’m using the USB 2way KVM. But frankly, I thought I’d have problems with the keyboard if nothing else. No matter. I am using my logitech USB keyboard, but now I have converted over to my Microsoft Optical Mouse, which is what I used to use on the Mac.
Figure’s, it does work kinda sorta. I seem to lose double click, even though the windows CP says that my mouse is set to double click on the scroll button. When switching, windows does see a new component being used on my USB port as well (which I will assume it’s the mouse, since it never happened with the logitech cordless).
It works, that’s all that matters and this is such a space saver. Now I don’t have to turn around or have 2 keyboards and mice on my desk. Now if I could only get around cleaning up my desk. I don’t think any company makes a desk cleaner upper…
If you didn’t know already, Expression Engine 1.2 has been released! You can download via the download area of the Expression Engine Website. It’s got some great features, the biggest of all the Photo Gallery Module:
Remember to follow the Update instructions! This is NOT a bug fix, it’s an upgrade!
Ok, so I whipped up a new skin last night. It’s taking me less effort everytime I have to create a new skin. I love the “changing the look of the site with just CSS alone” look.
Of course, this does not change the wording, nor does it change the content on each page. It just changes where they are on any given page.
Gotta love it. If you want to see the new skin, look to the bottom of the screen and select the “souls polished…” skin. I hope you like it!
Ok, so I’m sure it’s old news (because I always find out last), but Food Network is accepting applications to be the Next Food Network Star. Now I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve been watching enough TV cooking shows that I would just love to do it. Not to mention just being a finalist and being on Food Network land in NYC would be awesome. And have that chance of meeting those like Rachel Ray, Alton Brown, and Bobby Flay… Man that’s just too exciting. So I guess I have to steal back my videocamera and make my 3 minute presentation. What the hell can I make in 3 minutes? I don’t think Rachel Ray made her start with 3 minute meals.
Ok, I’ve take my pd-x site and converted it into a generic, minimalist template group called pd. If you wanna try it out, great!
It’s very very very minimalistic, I can promise you this!
Well, I think I’ll be submitting a template for the contest. But only after I’ve “perfected” my templates so that I can skin via CSS changes only. Much like you see at CSS Zen Garden. I’ll just be submitting my “pdx” template, so I gotta clean it up and make all references to generic.
Of course, we’ll see how it goes. The CSS will be the determining factor.
BTW, if you didn’t already know, you can change the skin by the links at the bottom of this page.
Dino Rossi governer of Washington State. How do you take that?
