Linklist Module Progress

Well, since I’ve been actively working on this module and have had 1 beta test of the module in use so far, (lisa-jill) I’d like to post some progress of what exactly what I’ve been working on for this module. It’s been kinda cool, and kinda neat, and I think I’ve touched a small tip on the iceberg that Rick and Paul work on. I have a feeling I won’t be requesting too many changes for a while. LOL

Anyways, I digress. On to the progress!

I will just list things that I wish to have, and things that I’ve done for features. If they are not done, I’ll give an estimated percentage on progress. (I do these things all the time, one of my clients just loves to read these. Kinda crazy if you ask me.)

Linklist Module Progress:

Completed Features:

- Multiple Link Lists

- Move/Edit/Delete Links (moving to different linklists)

- XFN support

- Status for links: Open, Closed, and Pending

- Output of Links. Here’s an example of the linklist tag:

{exp:linklist linklist=’linklist1′ limit=’20′ orderby=’random’}

{normal_linkcode} – {url_desc}

{/exp:linklist}

Basically that will list the links with the respective link code and the description.

- Link lists are maintained by member. This means that member 1 has a different list than member 2. This can be a useful feature in the future.

- Piping support for linklists, members, and status.

Upcoming Features (percentage indicates completion):

- Keyword filtering (10%)

- Auto-detect Favicon (5%)

- Auto-detect RSS Feed (5%)

Features not quite implemented but will be worked on:

- OPML Import/Export

- Nested/Linear Styles

- Visitor link submissions with email notification (that you received a link suggestion)

- Visitor link ratings

- URL clickthrough stats

- Updated status via weblogs.com/blogger.com updated list.

- DOMexplorer support

Those are the things on my list right now at this time. I think I might have missed a few things, and if you have any suggestions, please leave a comment, and let me know.

Consquently, if you want to be a volunteer and be a beta tester, let me know, I’ll put you on my list to send out when I want to test it. :)

    I would be happy to test the beta together with EE 1.2 beta.

    Let me just say that it is a really really large iceberg.  :-)
