I forgot to mention

I have brought back the shoutbox. I did this one differently by setting it up as a new weblog and now is just like entering a comment on an entry. Rather funky, but it works. Still not sure if it will work out the way that I want though. : )

Updated: I took out the “new” shoutbox and put in my old one. My old one works just fine and I can inline embed it instead of using iframes. (which was causing problems with any autodirected page like logging in.) So a lot of shouts were lost. :)

On a different note, I ate way too much yesterday. Way too much. I think I ate about 40 shish kabobs. But right now I am hungry for food. Too bad the weekend is over. /sigh.

Happy Memorial Day

This day to me is like the first day of summer. This is the day we would open the pool, have the first real BBQ, and a whole bunch of other things. Memorial Day to me is all about summertime. So hopefully everyone out there has a great day, I’ll be at a friends house eating up some serious food. : )

Skinning and stuff

Because there are still some of you that are looking for a skinning tutorial, allow me to point you in the right way. domesticat’s skin tutorial is perhaps one of the most popular ones. jules has more on this as well. She used domesticat’s tutorial. : )

No one is going to want to skin their site like mine, trust me LOL it ruins a lot, and because i have to parse PHP on input, it makes things tougher for me to implement certain types of tricks like inline comments. (but I do use this technique on my RSS feeds.)

DVD database updated

Thanks to Lynda’s Amazon API Plugin, I’ve been able to make the DVD database look a lot neater. And at the same time, I made the database so that it uses whatever skin you might be using at the time.

Filling in ASIN numbers for all those DVD’s almost killed me. I’m glad I don’t have 300+ DVD’s.

Colophon

Well, I finally got around to putting in a colophon. I couldn’t find my original “100 things about me” list, but I did put a “all you need to know about me” list in there. : ) colophon

I’m off to the Opera now

Ok, so lately, I’ve been neglecting the use of IE and Firefox. I’ve been using Opera instead. So far, I like it. It seems a bit faster than the rest of them. I like the way it does tabs as well. Although on my mac, I still prefer Safari.

There’s just one thing however, that’s eluding me. This is a question for you Opera CSS gurus out there. How do I get rid of that outside margin in the window? For instance, on my Ah! Megamisama! skin, I have it set to margin:0. In IE and Firefox, it shows no border around the outside edges. But in Opera, you can still see it! Is it different for Opera? It’s totally eluding me!

Portrait Illustration Maker

Thanks to Yvonne, I’ve made a new avatar. : ) It was generated by the Portrait Illustration Maker. I have to admit that I probably spent too much time there. : ) Take a look, it’s pretty cool. Thanks Yvonne for sharing. : )

Updated Photolog Templates

I’ve updated the photolog templates. There are now brief instructions on what to do with them, which helps if you didn’t read the post about how to install. If you have any questions, feel free to let me know. Meanwhile, the updated templates are now in the download area to the left. : )

Member Pages

I’ll be working on the member pages tonight, so if you’re having issues, you’ll know why. : )

Well, looks like most of it’s done. Well, not true. Just the member list and the profile page (the pages that are mostly viewed in my opinion) look ok in Skin 3 (Ah! Megamisama!). I haven’t yet worked out the other skins. If you’re having problems, let me know.

Updated: Also wanted everyone to know that I also now have a popup window in the member prefs for avatars that I host on my own server. : )

It’s your birthday Plug-in

I have created a new plug-in that will display the members who are having birthdays on the current month. It has many features, all which are explained in the README. There is also an example as well. Feel free to download the plugin from the left hand side.
