Just curious

How many Lacey/Olympia WA area bloggers are there? I know there are plenty in Seattle itself. : ) Just wondering how many folks out there are in my area. Doesn’t seem to be too many from Meetup site. So whaddya say? How many out there?

Recently…

I’ve been a slacker on current events. I haven’t been keeping up with fellow bloggers at all recently. I’m not sure what it is. Hell, I don’t even know what current events are happening. Recently, it’s been hers and his birthdays. I didn’t realize! Actually I know too many folks with birthdays at about this time. Meesh’s mom’s birthday is coming up, and then in a couple months, my own family has their string of birthdays. Holy crap, it’s Mother’s day soon!

Anyways…

I haven’t been keeping up. That’s the point. I’ve been busy. But as a small side project, I’m going to re-skin this site. Once I rewrite half the code to make sure everything is CSS friendly. I might even be able to get to it sometime.

Tivo? Nah.

So I finally hooked up the computer with Beyond TV. It’s nice. Buying the package gets you hooked up with their programming guide, SnapStream. So far it’s nice! I’m amazed at how easy it was to set up. Although I think I’ll have to get Meesh a better video card. I’m having issues watching the tv within Beyond TV. If that’s it at all. More research will tell.

I’ve set it up record a few shows, gotta check it out and see how well it works. Wondering how easy it will be to record to VCD as well. Only time will tell! I will have a complete review in a week or two. : )

On This Day Plugin v 1.0

After some testing, thanks to Tam, I can now release On This Day version 1.0. If you have any issues, let me know. You can download it:

pi.onthisday-1.0.zip

Or on the downloads area on the left.

On This Day Plugin

Ok. Since it’s been asked for, I put together a beta (it really needs to be tested) of an “On This Day” plugin. Basically, it will display to you prior entries made on the day the visitor visits your site. i.e. if they happen to visit on 4/20/04, it will show all entries (or as many as you specify) for 4/20 prior to this year. This should work, but a couple people might have issues with it. That’s why I’m releasing it as beta 1.

I’m sure there will be requests for features in it, which is another reason I’m releasing it as beta. All instructions are within the ZIP file, please read and try it out!

Diablo 2

Ok. So I broke down and I installed Diablo 2 on my computer. Lo behold though, I couldn’t run that resolution on my monitor. That sucks. 800×600 apparently is not liked on my monitor. So I thought about it, and installed it on Meesh’s computer. I’m sure she didn’t mind at all. ; ) Works great. Now I’m back to playing it a lot. Well, not too bad. I forgot how easy and uncomplicated the game is compared to something like EQ.

We’re planning also on opening up a Worlds of Warcraft fan site. We being me and Cybr. It’ll run Expression Engine (of course) and hopefully bring some up to date stuff. I’ll probably rely on Cybr for all the up to date stuff. He’s always on top of things. I myself just like to play. : )

*ahem*

So, June 4th, we’ll be going to the Washington Center to go see A Night of Improv starring those zany guys from “Whose Line is it Anyways?” We’ll be in the orchestra left seats. I’m really looking forward to it. It promises to be great, especially if you like Whose Line. I can’t wait! :)

A few observations

It’s raining today. I love the rain. I have to admit, I really like thunderstorms. It reminds me of the days in Japan when we would get typhoons, and I would just sit at the sliding glass doors watching the wind and the rain fall. Ah, the innocence of youth. The rain here so far reminds me of Japan. It’s a light drizzle, turning into hard rain, then just as quickly, it turns back into a light drizzle. Occasionally the sun will pop out and shine brightly down, while it was continuing to rain. Now that’s the kind of rain I love. I’m so glad to be in Washington. It’s good to be alive.

Washington Trip

Because of the power of ExpressionEngine, I was able to create a new weblog and chronicle my trips. You can find my really boring (or not so boring) story of my Washington Trip.
