Psychodaisy Guestblogging

While Yoshi’s on his way to his new home he asked me to keep you entertained. Guestblogging always seems like a good idea until I’m actually doing it. Especially when I have nothing to say on my own blog. Not that I am not thrilled to be here. I get to play with ExpressionEngine. Woo! EE makes me drool. It makes MT look like a little tinker toy.

So, in an effort to keep everyone entertained, I give you this this game. Go squish some flies! I’ve killed a whopping 1 fly so far. And that time I think it was just a fluke.

Peace out, Jules

This is a pretty simple process. With the new ExpressionEngine PB2 release, you can easily allow your members to have a member avatar. I’ll explain how I did it here.

New: Avatars for members

Ok because of public beta 2 of Expression Engine, we can now have avatars for members! Here’s how to set it up:

1. After you are logged in, click on profile in the upper right portion of the menu.

2. Click on “Edit your profile”. You can probably fill in anything else you’d like others to see as well.

3. In the bottom box, “Avatar URL” put the URL to the image you woul like to use as your avatar.

Special notes: You should be using a 50×50 image. The end result is shown restricted to 50×50, so please try to resize it so that it looks right and good. If you put in a URL to a gigantic image, causing slow downs, I’ll ask you to change it. If I get no results from that I’ll have to take it out. :( I wouldn’t like to do that though.

Where does it show? This avatar will show up in your comments. You can view any comments now, and you’ll see my avatar. Any questions, let me know!

- Related Entries tag.

Gothika

I just finished watching Gothika. First of all, let me say that I’m not a big fan of either Penelope Cruz or Halle Berry. I’m not sure why I don’t like Halle Berry though. It’s just something about her. Well, regardless of my mysterious dislike, I really liked this movie. Rather suspenseful, had a few shock scares, and they had me thinking I knew who it was, but no, I was way off.

The music (like all horror/thriller type movies) was exceptional. I loved it! Normally I wouldn’t watch these types of movies alone. But I guess I got over that fear. I’m just overly sensitive to the paranormal I suppose. I have a wild imagination.

All in all, I’d say if you like a decent thriller, watch this.

Spring Cleaning

Since I’m moving in a week, I’ve been going through a bunch of oooold crap of mine. I’m so a pack rat. I’ve discovered that I tend to keep boxes for everything I buy. Even stuff that is way old. Then I am reminded that I don’t even have that item anymore. Yet I still have the box. Tells you how often I go into my closet!

I found my original Everquest box. 44.99 at Best Buy. Damn! I don’t think you can buy *only* Everquest at all anymore. Just kinda amazing how long since the first time I played EQ was. :) (Not that I played straight through mind you!)

You also find a lot of interesting stuff. Well usually to yourself, when you’re cleaning up old stuff. I’ve found many old notebooks with notes for programming, designs, ideas, etc. I even found an old journal I thought I had lost. Of course, ask me where it is now and I wouldn’t be able to tell you. It’s in pile #3. I think. hehe. I have so much stuff…and so much crap. I’ve gotta throw half of this stuff away. I’ll never use it or need it again!

According to this BBC News Article, Rainbow is set to re-release the movie Life of Brian, to offset the controversy from Mel Gibson’s Passion of the Christ. I don’t know about all that, but I’m all for seeing any of the Python movies in the theatre. Wow, when will they do that to Holy Grail?

Ok, I finally got around to watching Runaway Jury. Great movie! I originally wanted to watch it mainly because it had John Cusack in it, however, I didn’t realize it also had Gene Hackman and Dustin Hoffman. I’m a big Hackman fan as well.

After I started to watch it I realized it was based on a John Grisham book. The book, however is about the tobacco industry whereas the movie was about the gun industry. In some eyes, this would not be much of a difference.

I thought John’s performance was excellent in this movie. It just goes to show just how much he’s “grown up” since the days of One Crazy Summer and Better off Dead. (Although those movies are still excellent.)

I was surprised to find out that Gene Hackman and Dustin Hoffman (or “Dusty” as Gene calls him) had never been cast in the same feature film before this one. They were roommates way back in the day (1956 was when they met) and have been friends ever since. The writers created a 7 minute scene where the two confronted each other in the court bathroom. This was quite the riveting scene. There’s something about watching two great actors go at each other. Great performance.

I loved this movie. It was suspenseful and entertaining. The acting was exceptional. And I didn’t quite notice that Jennifer Beals was in it as well! If you love John Cusack, this is a must see!

Pop & Drop by GameHouse

I am utterly and completely addicted to this game. If you’ve noticed no activity in the past few days, this is why.

Snuggle Bear

Ok, apparently the Snuggle Bear is evil. Or at least the one that is apparently showing up on the new commercials. I haven’t seen these commercials, but I just remember him being a cute and cuddly little teddy bear. The way my friends described him, it was as if it was Teddy Ruxpin and Godzilla were combined. Just not sure what to think of this! I never thought of Snuggles as evil! Is this true? Does anyone have a pic of this to share?
