There are stories of confusion, stories of death, stories about “weapons of mass destruction”. When will things come to an stop and someone stand up to say, “please. stop.”

The world is an odd place I tell you.

Stories about kids shooting kids, about mothers leaving babies in trash dumpsters, stories about serial killers, stories about humankind killing it’s own because of religion, race, opinion, indifferences. All this, I watch, sitting back in my chair, on my couch, in my car.

The world is an odd place I tell you.

History has already shown all this. None of this is new, war, murder, rape, abandonment, greed. Most especially greed. Throughout history it has existed. It’s been there, or have you been desensitized just like many of us to that fact? Perhaps. It’s true.

The world is an odd place I tell you.

Actually, the world is a scary place.

Daily, billions of people persevere. We get through the day, knowing that the world is dying, the world is suffering, the world is hungry. We are all but small pieces of a grand puzzle that people call life. We get through all that. What drives us? What makes us get through the day?

Hope? Love? Family? Friends?

I think it’s different for all of us. I really do. What does it for me? Inspiration. I am inspired to get through the day, knowing that tomorrow could be a better day. Knowing that words that are spoken now will be heard tomorrow, and then the next day, and the next day, and so on and so on. Words that carry throughout the world, typed in a small room, illuminated only by the lights of computer screens.

I am inspired by the works of others, by the words they speak, by the actions they perform, and by the pure energy of life they have. I am inspired by photographs, I am inspired by video, I am inspired by people being who they are. I am inspired.

Because the world is a scary place.

So do your part. Do something inspiring for someone today. It can be anything from saying someone looks good that day or holding open the door for someone. It can be allowing a car to pull into your lane during traffic. It could even be a nonchalant smile given to a passerby.

Inspire me.

I apologize.

For those blogs I don’t read, I’m sorry. I’ve been neglecting a lot of you lately. For that I’m sorry. That’s all I got to say. :)

Watched Shakespeare In Love today. You know, I thought I’d seen this, but realized, I haven’t! I really loved it, of course. :) Romeo and Juliet is still one of my favourite tragedies of all time. I’m not normally a great Gwyneth Paltrow fan, but I loved her in this one. Not to mention it was rather refreshing seeing Ben Affleck play a “non-lead” role. :) Ben’s cool, but it’s good to know he doesn’t have to be the center of attention. ;)

If you haven’t seen this film and like any kind of tragedies or liked Romeo and Juliet, you must see it.

Also watched The Princess Diaries, which I found rather cute and entertaining. It reminded me of Legally Blonde, which I thought was rather funny as well. I recommend both.
