What a great movie. Of course, I’m a big fan of just about any John Cusack film. Probably because most of his films, I can totally relate to. Like High Fidelity. I sooo relate to that movie. Ahhh, my life is a movie. Of course, in the end, I never do get the girl. But then again, my movie isn’t quite over yet.
There are stories of confusion, stories of death, stories about “weapons of mass destruction”. When will things come to an stop and someone stand up to say, “please. stop.”
The world is an odd place I tell you.
Stories about kids shooting kids, about mothers leaving babies in trash dumpsters, stories about serial killers, stories about humankind killing it’s own because of religion, race, opinion, indifferences. All this, I watch, sitting back in my chair, on my couch, in my car.
The world is an odd place I tell you.
History has already shown all this. None of this is new, war, murder, rape, abandonment, greed. Most especially greed. Throughout history it has existed. It’s been there, or have you been desensitized just like many of us to that fact? Perhaps. It’s true.
The world is an odd place I tell you.
Actually, the world is a scary place.
Daily, billions of people persevere. We get through the day, knowing that the world is dying, the world is suffering, the world is hungry. We are all but small pieces of a grand puzzle that people call life. We get through all that. What drives us? What makes us get through the day?
Hope? Love? Family? Friends?
I think it’s different for all of us. I really do. What does it for me? Inspiration. I am inspired to get through the day, knowing that tomorrow could be a better day. Knowing that words that are spoken now will be heard tomorrow, and then the next day, and the next day, and so on and so on. Words that carry throughout the world, typed in a small room, illuminated only by the lights of computer screens.
I am inspired by the works of others, by the words they speak, by the actions they perform, and by the pure energy of life they have. I am inspired by photographs, I am inspired by video, I am inspired by people being who they are. I am inspired.
Because the world is a scary place.
So do your part. Do something inspiring for someone today. It can be anything from saying someone looks good that day or holding open the door for someone. It can be allowing a car to pull into your lane during traffic. It could even be a nonchalant smile given to a passerby.
Inspire me.
For those blogs I don’t read, I’m sorry. I’ve been neglecting a lot of you lately. For that I’m sorry. That’s all I got to say.
Watched Shakespeare In Love today. You know, I thought I’d seen this, but realized, I haven’t! I really loved it, of course.
Romeo and Juliet is still one of my favourite tragedies of all time. I’m not normally a great Gwyneth Paltrow fan, but I loved her in this one. Not to mention it was rather refreshing seeing Ben Affleck play a “non-lead” role.
Ben’s cool, but it’s good to know he doesn’t have to be the center of attention.
If you haven’t seen this film and like any kind of tragedies or liked Romeo and Juliet, you must see it.
Also watched The Princess Diaries, which I found rather cute and entertaining. It reminded me of Legally Blonde, which I thought was rather funny as well. I recommend both.
“How art thou out of breath when thou hast breath to say to me that thou art out of breath? Is the news good or bad, answer to that.”
Started up a photo gallery to organize my photographs. Maybe I’ll actually start taking more pictures soon. Let’s hope so. I think I hear a road trip coming up in the future. Just not quite sure where yet…
Listening to the Blast from the Past I can’t help but think that if I danced like Brendan Fraser did in the club scene, I’d look like an idiot. Man that man is cool. When I grow up, I wanna be Brendan Fraser.
So I came home today and noticed something very thick at my doorstep. It turned out to be a Professional Lighting Sourcebook from B&H Photo. They know I just drool over stuff that they have. If I had a credit card with no limit that I didn’t have to pay off, I could easily max it at B&H Photo. Easily. Granted everything is damn expensive in there, including the Nikon D1, Nikon F4, etc etc. My other Nikon’s are feeling neglected I know. I really need to use them. I need inspiration.
Inspire me.
Was talking about Valentine’s day today with someone. Yeah, it’s just around the corner. Kinda seems to single out single people. But hey, that’s cool.
Of course, we started talking about relationships. How long have any of your relationships lasted? (marriage not included.) I don’t think I’ve had one any longer than 3 months. I don’t think anyone can put up with me for that long. It’s not that I’m afraid to get into one. I just seem to meet the wrong girls to go out with. But hey, that’s old news.
Anyways, Valentine’s is coming up soon, and I hope it’s great for all you non-single folks.
It’s an age old question from the dawn of man. I have now figured it out. Life is about paying bills. That’s right. Paying bills.
I know what you’re thinking. “how can that be Yoshi?” *nodding* I know, but it’s true. Today, I paid a bunch of bills. I’m now left with enough money to make it till next payday. Then you know what happens? That’s right! I pay more bills. It’s a vicious cycle.
From the dawn of humankind, we have all been paying bills in one shape or another. And what it comes down to is money. When you get money, and realize what it does for you, you only want more. There are those among us that choose to live a poverty, donating their money to those who truly need it. But those people are so rare.
I myself earn enough money to make my payments and eat and live. There are great times when I can actually buy really cool stuff, but really it’s because I am putting off paying some kind of bill or another.
It’s all true. It’s really all just a conspiracy. A conspiracy of money.
That was just sad. I just wanted to say that. However, did you watch the commercials? There were some great ones. I for one liked the Matrix Reloaded trailer.
I can’t wait to see that one. It was good to see Gwen too. They were all doing pretty good, although I could have lived without Shania. Oh, can’t forget the preview for The Hulk. That looked pretty decent. Looked like a lot of CG just like Spiderman. Seems like we’ve got comic book movies all over the place right now.
I am only reminded that I have to go to work tomorrow. LOL Another week begins soon.
