You know, although Cameron Crowe hasn’t written or directed many movies (as far as Hollywood goes), he’s really managed to have all them be really great movies. I mean they might not be SUPER blockbuster hits, but they are excellent movies. I mean solid good movies. Two of which I’ve mentioned in this blog at least a few times. :) Say Anything and Almost Famous. Both are great movies. While I was watching the Say Anything DVD, Cameron had mentioned that he knew that his movies were a hit when a fan had come up to John Cusack and said, “You’re Lloyd, Lloyd Dobler right?” He also heard that someone had said something similar to Billy Crudup: “You’re Russell Hammond, right?”

The one thing I do find rather interesting in Almost Famous is the fact that it totally reflects the young life of Cameron Crowe himself, who grew up in the Rock ‘n Roll scene, and became a writer for Rolling Stone magazine. Man, what an experience it must have been growing up as Cameron Crowe.

In case you’ve never heard of or don’t pay much attention to who directs movies, Cameron Crowe also directed Jerry Maguire, Singles, and Vanilla Sky. The only movie I have to see is Vanilla Sky. I’ve heard that I might like it, but it did seem a little odd when I saw the previews. But it is a Cameron Crowe film after all. :)

Shout shout let it all out!

I alas have put the shoutbox back in. I’m slowly integrating a lot of the old stuff that I had before, and a few new things. I’m still struggling on the polls. I’ve got a few ideas about it, but I’m not quite sure how to go about it yet. :) Stay tuned!

  1. Rented lodgings, or staying with friends/relatives? Staying with friends/relatives. I’m a firm believer in getting things for free. :)
  2. Lots of activities, or just lying around doing nothing? Depends on where I’m going for vacation! :)
  3. Blogging while on vacation…yes or no? Sure, if I had something to say, and if I had access to a computer. :)
  4. If you have children and/or pets…bring them along or make other arrangements? Depends on the vacation. But odds are if I had children, I would plan the vacation around them, and pets, well, I’ve enough friends to take care of any pets. ;p
  5. Do you cook while away on vacation, or eat out every day? I would probably cook if I could. I enjoy cooking so, it wouldn’t be like work for me. :)
  6. Do you pack light and plan to do laundry while away, or overpack and wash everything when you get home? I tend to pack light. But then it all depends on how long I’m going to be away too. And where I’m going. I mean if I’m going camping, I’ll probably bring a little extra. :)
  7. Drive to your vacation spot, or take some kind of public transportation? I would rather drive if I could. I enjoy the long drives, even if it does add time to your vacation. In my eyes, the drive is a good part of a vacation.
  8. If you have a cell phone…on or off while away? I would have it just in case, but it would definitely be turned off. I can check my messages later. :)
  9. Bring work along or not? Oh HELL no.
  10. Returning home with more stuff than you originally took with you…yes or no? That always happens. I’ll find something on the trip most likely. Could be anything from souvenirs to a cool rock or something I picked up. I’m a pack rat like that.
