Looks like I’m going to Japan soon. Normally that’s a good thing. But not this time. My biological father passed away, and I need to go pay my respects. My half sister wants to meet me, and the feelings are mutual. Her mother passed away last year, and I believe I’m what little family she has now. She also just had a son, so I’m now an uncle officially thank you. 
Regardless, it will be a pleasure and displeasure to visit the homeland.
On a different bad news note, my high school friend’s father has been diagnosed with spinal cancer. It looks as if surgery can cure the cancer, but at best, he will be paralyzed from the waist down. But now the spinal cancer specialist has said that it looks like tumors are developing throughout his neck and has caused problems with his arms and breathing. Although there doesn’t seem to be much of a hope of recovery, miracles do happen. Please send any thoughts or prayers his way.
