I don’t have Food network. Now how am I supposed to watch the Iron Chef and Emeril??? I should have looked for that first and asked when I called up to order it if they were planning on getting that station in. :) Anyways, it took a whopping 5 minutes (if that) to turn on cable. It’s simply amazing that they should even think about charging you an “installation” fee. All the guy did was say, “Ok, check it out, is it working?” Errrm….Isn’t that your job? To make sure it works? LOL It’s ok I hooked it up worked fine. Made sure TechTV came up just fine. :)

But the cable guy was cool. He was mentioning that they are getting ready to install cable modem soon. OMG I hope there is some truth to that. ISDN is great, but it’s still slow and expensive compared to either DSL or Cable, neither of which I get here. /sigh.

Oh, and on a good note, they just happened to be running a week long special of free HBO2 and Cinemax2. I didn’t subscribe to those. That’s what rentals and cheap-ass DVD’s are for nowadays. :) But regardless I still get that for free, I can’t complain about that. :) Gotta love technology.

Some observations

  1. The majority of people are either stupid or dangerous drivers. I saw a gentleman turn into a one way street the wrong way just to get to Del Taco. I guess he didn’t see the other entrance only 20 feet right in front of him. Meanwhile, he endangered all the oncoming traffic.
  2. At that same intersection, while I was waiting for the green light, a gentleman apparently couldn’t wait 5 seconds for the green light, and went through the red. Too bad there was no cop around.
  3. Not one minute after I got on the freeway (oops i mean highway here. ;p), there was this lady who had her windshield wipers on at full speed. I mean super fast. Too bad it wasn’t raining. She was behind me and had those things on for a good 5 minutes that I saw her. :)
  4. There was this really old car, looked like a ‘75 Cutlass, that had a sign in the back window that said, “Unmarked Car”. I just thought that entertaining.
  5. TANSTAAFL (There ain’t no such thing as a free lunch.)
  6. No matter how sleepy or tired you are at work, the minute you leave there, you’re wide awake.
  7. Thunderstorms rock. :)
  8. Small addendum added just minutes later:

  9. No matter how many times I watch Jeopardy, I have YET to see a repeat “answer”.

New projects

Because I love to stay busy with projects, I’ve taken up a couple new projects. :)

  1. A celebrity guest-star Friends list. I know. It’s pretty much been done. But I want one that I can update. :)
  2. The Restaurant database. This is a database of restaurants that you just hate to go to, but still do. :) This one has been on the backburner for at least 3 years. I really want to get this going. It’s user interactive so you can even add entries. :)
  3. The “Inner Chi” website. This is my EverQuest guild. :) This one should be fun. :)

The Friday Five

  1. What is your favorite restaurant and why? I’d have to say it’s Shogun right now. It’s a great japanese restaraunt right up the road from me.
  2. What fast food restaurant are you partial to? McD’s. :) I love their fries. Although I’d have to say it all depends on the mood too. Sometimes I’ll be all over White Castles. LOL
  3. What are your standards and rules for tipping? I usually look at the tax, double it and then add something. Usually I don’t leave any less then a few dollars though. Of course is the service is really shabby then I’ll leave less. ;)
  4. Do you usually order an appetizer and/or dessert? Unless I’m not really hungry (ha! That’s never. lol), I’ll almost always order an appetizer. I don’t get dessert though, not allowed to eat those sweets. ;p
  5. What do you usually order to drink at a restaurant? I’m a big soda drinker, but oddly enough, I usually get iced tea at a restaraunt. Imagine that.
